Exhibitions and Collections

The museum is designed to reinvent itself regularly with rotating exhibitions. Each theme transforms the digital rooms into entirely new interactive worlds.

  • 🎨 Current Exhibition – “Van Gogh: Chasing the Light”
This exhibition immerses visitors in the vibrant colors and emotional depth of Van Gogh’s works. Using artificial intelligence, virtual reality, augmented reality, and interactive projections, the exhibit takes you through his life journey. Guests walk among glowing sunflowers, swirling starry skies, and rooms inspired by his personal struggles and triumphs.
  • 🕰️ Past Highlights:
    • ⚡ Beyond Time: Nikola Tesla – A pioneering exhibition where visitors traveled through Tesla’s mind. The immersive rooms displayed his experiments, lightning storms, and groundbreaking inventions. The VR storm simulation and 360° projections left many visitors awe-struck.
    • 🏛️ From Tradition to Future: Digital Reflections of Cultural Memory – A creative presentation of Turkey’s cultural heritage. Traditional art forms such as Ottoman miniatures, calligraphy, and shadow plays were reimagined through digital art, holograms, and AI visuals.
  • 🖥️ Permanent Digital Spaces:
    • 🌐 Immersive Room – 360° floor-to-ceiling projections with sound design.
    • 🥽 Virtual Reality Room – headset experiences that transport visitors into new worlds.

History and Significance

The Digital Experience Museum opened in February 2024 as Turkey’s first fully comprehensive digital art and experience center. Developed by Kültür AŞ under the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, it spans 2,000 m² of cutting-edge exhibition space. What makes the museum particularly significant is that all its software, design, and digital installations were created by Turkish developers and artists. This not only highlights local talent but also positions Istanbul as a global hub for interactive art.

Unlike static museums, the Digital Experience Museum is designed to evolve. Exhibitions change frequently, ensuring fresh and repeat-worthy visits. The museum also houses an İstanbul Kitapçısı bookstore and café, encouraging visitors to relax, socialize, and reflect on what they’ve experienced. It stands as a bridge between technology and culture, bringing history, science, and art into the digital future.

Events and Workshops

Beyond the exhibitions, the museum frequently organizes special events and educational programs that enrich its offerings:

  • 🧘 Immersive Yoga: Practicing yoga surrounded by tranquil digital landscapes projected on every surface.
  • 🎬 Cinema Beyond Time: Watching iconic films like The Matrix enhanced by synchronized projections and digital effects.
  • 👧👦 Children’s Day & Youth Day Celebrations: Free or discounted entries with family-oriented activities, games, and shows.
  • 🏫 Workshops for Schools: Hands-on sessions for students exploring the basics of digital art, coding, and interactive storytelling.
  • 🔔 Gong Bath Sessions: Meditative sound therapy combined with immersive visuals, creating a unique mind-body experience.
  • 🎶 Night Shift Performances: After-hours programs with DJs and digital performers, transforming the museum into a cultural nightlife venue.

By combining entertainment, education, and wellness, these events make the museum much more than a tourist attraction – it is a living cultural platform.

    • 🎮 Highly interactive elements that appeal to children and adults alike.
    • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 A perfect family-friendly attraction with activities for all ages.
